2026 6th Annual Letterpress by the Bay Applications Open

The Historic St. Andrews Waterfront Partnership (HSAWP), the managing organization of the Panama City Publishing Company Museum (PCPCM), will host its 6th annual juried exhibition to showcase creativity with letterpress printing techniques. From this craft, we strive to challenge and inspire artists and historians to continue the love of printing.

May 20 Notice of acceptance will be sent via email only.
June 5 Original entry due at the PCPCM. Ship or deliver to the address below.
July 1 Exhibit opens.
July 25 4 – 6 p.m. Exhibit reception and awards.
August 31 Exhibit closes.
Sept 30 Deadline for artists to collect their work.

ELIGIBILITY & MEDIA

HSAWP invites letterpress artists 18+ years of age to submit. The applicant must have completed the submitted work within the last 2 years. Letterpress art will be displayed in UV-resistant frames provided by the museum. Incomplete applications and 3D entries will not be accepted. Letterpress art:
– can be posters, broadsides, or other pieces
– must be 2 dimensional only
– no larger than 11” x 17”
– must include the use of type
– be unframed with no mat

JUROR’S CRITERIA

The jurors’ criteria for the exhibit include craftsmanship and creative original use of the medium. The jurying process is anonymous. The judges have the option to create a “Judge’s Category”.

Awards will be announced at the artist reception and posted on our website, Facebook, Instagram, and email.

Agreement to Participate:(Required)

An application form indicates the artist verifies the following:
1. Submitted work is original and uninhibited by copyrights.
2. The conditions of entry and exhibit as outlined are agreed upon.
3. The artwork is available and will ship or be delivered to the museum by the deadline should it be selected for exhibit.
4. Work not claimed by September 30, 2026 will become property of the PCPCM.

Entry Fee and Application
A nonrefundable entry fee of $10 USD.. Artists may not submit more than 3 pieces. Only 1 digital/print image per artwork entry will be accepted.

Shipping of Work
Accepted work must arrive unframed with no mat at the PCPCM by June 5, 2026 @ 5 p.m. CT and be clearly labeled with artist information. Prepaid return shipping label must be included. Accepted work that differs from the entry images or suffers from poor presentation will be disqualified. Work may be shipped or personally delivered during museum hours (Tuesday - Friday 1-5 p.m. & Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

Publication
Photographs taken may be used for future promotional materials. By submitting an application and participating in the exhibition the artist waives all rights of photographs taken for publicity purposes.

Indemnification
The HSAWP and PCPCM are not liable for damage caused during shipping for any reason, including mishandling by carrier or failure of packaging to protect work in transit. Artists are responsible for damage caused to submitted work by failure of the work itself, disintegration/degradation due to the nature/quality of materials or craftsmanship or incidental damage to work whose artist-directed presentation methods put them at risk.

Artist Bio, Description of Process, and Images
For documentation and publicity purposes, an artist bio and short description of each submission is required with the application. This exhibition is intended to showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques; your description will help inspire and inform viewers about this show. Please make sure that digital or printed images submitted with the application are clear and accurately represent the work.
